 2022 IRAWO DAY CELEBRATION GOVERNOR MANKINDE'S SECOND TERM BID



As the 2023 elections is fast approaching, the people of Oke Ogun area have been charged to show more commitment in supporting Governor Seyi Mankinde's second term bid in order to enjoy more dividend of democracy and good governance.

Oyo State Deputy Governor Barrister Bayo Lawal gave the charge while speaking on behalf of the state Governor at the 2022 Irawo Day Celebration

While commending the traditional rulers and political actors in oke ogun for their steadfastness, Barrister Bayo Lawal appreciated their love and togetherness.

He said the era of playing politics of bitterness is over adding that the people of oke ogun are more united ever than before and are now ready to play politics of progress irrespective of their political affiliations.

The Deputy Governor assured the people that the rehabilitation of Okaka-Ipapo road will commence very soon so ease vehicular movement adding that the renovation of Irawo Comprehensive High School Okoo couple with the establishment of ICT centre for the educational advancement of their children will also be carried out.

He emphasized that Irawo town and Atisbo by extension will serve as tourist attraction to harness mineral resources abound in the area to boost state IGR.

Barrister Bayo Lawal charged Ajoriwin to make land available for farm settlement and agric development.

In the same vein, Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Hon Niyi Adebisi, Special Adviser to the State Governor on Legislative Matters Hon Adejumobi Ademola Agbarapo,PDP Federal House of Representative Candidate Dr Lukman Adisa Salami Adamawa, Executive Chairman Atisbo Local Government Hon Adeagbo Fasasi Ademola Amifas in their separate remarks explained the need to re-elect Governor Seyi Makinde and all PDP candidate during 2023 general election.

They highlighted successes recorded during the Seyi Makinde tenure which surpassed that of his predecessor.

While speaking,Hon Shina Abiola Peller described the untimely death of his political associate Hon Jacob Funmi Ogunmola as a collosal loss to him and the entire people of oke ogun at large.

He reiterated that he is looking forward to see a well developed oke ogun region through quality representation.

The epoch event which was graced by traditional rulers, political bigwigs, government functionaries, religious bodies and Irawo indigines also featured the conferment of award of Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy on Ajoriwin of Irawo land Oba Musliudeen Ademola Olalere Asaju1 by Gorgeous University of Cotonou,Benin Republic.

The Director of Studies and Administration Dr Moshood Ismail Abioye said the honour was in recognition of the monarch,s contribution to humanity and the Institution.

National Chairman Irawo Parapo Deacon SO Abiola and Chairman Planning Committee 2022 Irawo Day Alhaji Kola Oladeebo admonished Irawo indigines home and abroad to contribute their quota to the development of their ancient town.
